A fusion of traditional and modern beauty
timeless beauty of the kimono.
SAIKAI Kimonos are redesigned based on traditional designs.
The colors are faithful to tradition, and the timeless beauty of the kimono is brought back to life in the modern age through collaboration with dyeing artisans and kimono sewers.
A kimono becomes a piece of cloth again when it is unraveled, and is passed down from mother to daughter and from daughter to grandson, passing from one generation to the next.
We want people around the world to know that kimono is an excellent textile that can be reused many times.
Kimono is sustainable
Because one piece of kimono is cut and tailored into eight pieces by straight cutting, it returns to its original cloth form after being untied and joined together. Easy to recycle and upcycle
Also, because it is cut in straight lines, there are fewer scraps than other garments, so each piece of leftover fabric is only 30 inches wide and 30 inches long or less.
Because it returns to its original shape, it can be remade into new kimonos, and kimonos that can no longer be worn have long been reused as cushions and bags in Japanese culture.
